Welcome to Week 9’s Weekly Rewind: Can you believe it's almost Fall Break! We started our next Unit in Benchmark Advance. We are learning about fables for the next 3 weeks. Along with fables we are focusing on Characters. Character traits, motivations, challenges, changes, and actions are what we are learning to identify. We started our Apple Unit to kick off Fall. We identified the parts of the apple. We wrote down characteristics of apples. And we got to taste 3 different types of apples. Our experiment this week was to predict which liquid would best keep the apple fresh. Over the course of a week we observed how the apples change based on the liquids in the jar. The liquids we tested were: water, lime juice, olive oil, milk and vinegar. We found that apples in the lime juice and vinegar stayed fresh longer because they are acids. For Math, we started rounding. We can round to the nearest 10,s and 100's. Along with rounding to the nearest 10's and 100's place, we can round on a vertical and horizontal number line. We hope everyone has a fantastic Fall Break! Don't forget about IlP's! Take a look at our photos and videos from this week.
